Walking your Maltipoo
One of the biggest joys of owning a dog is being able to take it on walks. Not only are walks good for your Maltipoo, but the same thing holds true for your health as well. After all, a walk a day could go a long way in keeping you in tip top shape for years on end. The question is: will your Maltipoo like to walk as much as you?
Generally speaking, the Maltipoo is a breed that has plenty of energy. It will be able to keep up with you no matter what pace you are walking at. Of course, make sure that you do not take things too far and overheat your dog; this can cause serious health problems.
Many Maltipoo owners think that their dog will not like to walk because of its short leg. Yes, it is true that a Maltipoo has shorter legs than most breeds, but this does not seem to hold these dogs back at all. The only thing that you will notice is that your Maltipoo has a harder time keeping up with your pace. But even then, they will adjust accordingly to make sure that they never get left behind.
Remember, you will have to train your Maltipoo to walk on a leash. Many dogs have a hard time adapting to this, and want to do nothing but chew on their leash or attempt to run out far ahead of you. Over time, this will begin to subside and soon enough your Maltipoo will learn to walk right next to you.
If you own a Maltipoo, make sure that you take it on walks. They love the fresh air and exercise, and you should to.
