The Size of a Maltipoo Puppy
A lot of people want to buy a Maltipoo puppy because of their small size. But what does small mean? Simply put, the Maltipoo is one of the smallest dogs that you will come across. Sure, there are other breeds that are smaller, but not many.
Generally speaking, a Maltipoo puppy is not going to weigh much more than a pound or two at the most. After all, puppies are only eight to twelve weeks old when most people buy them. And a full grown Maltipoo is rarely going to weigh more than 10 pounds.
A lot of people purchase a Maltipoo puppy with the hopes that it will stay the same size forever. While there is no chance of this happening, there are some that stay much smaller than others. If you are interested in the smallest possible Maltipoo, you will want to ask the breeder about the size of the parents. From there, they will be able to give you a good guess as to how big the puppy will get.
Believe it or not, some Maltipoo breeders specialize in keeping their puppies as small as possible. They do this by breeding a Poodle and Maltipoo that are very small. By doing this, it all but ensures that the puppies will also be on the petite side. Many breeders refer to these as “teacup Maltipoos.”
The size of a Maltipoo puppy is sure to be small; usually less than two pounds depending on the age when you make the purchase. As your Maltipoo gets older, it will grow a little bit. But for the most part, it won’t get much bigger than eight to ten pounds.
