Leaving your Maltipoo Home Alone
Just because you work it does not mean that you can never own a Maltipoo. Believe it or not, many people never buy a dog because they do not want to leave it at home when they go to work in the morning. While this is a viable concern, you need to consider all of your options. After all, there are hundreds of thousands of people who own dogs yet still manage to leave home for eight hours a day or more.
First things first, you need to get your Maltipoo used to its crate. The bottom line is that your Maltipoo has to be able to stay in its crate for an extended period of time; at least when it is still a puppy. With that being said, as your Maltipoo gets older you may be able to train it to roam your house when you are at work; this would be the best case scenario. But even if this is your eventual goal, you need to crate train your Maltipoo anyway.
Another thing to consider is whether or not you can sneak away from work for a few minutes each day. For instance, do you get a lunch break? If so, you could travel home to take your Maltipoo out of its crate for a few minutes. Again, you will only have to do this until your dog is old enough to roam free.
If you are going to keep your Maltipoo in its crate for long hours, you need to play with and/or exercise it at night. In other words, you do not want your Maltipoo to be crated all day, and then have to sleep in there at night after only a few hours on the outside.
Overall, you can own a Maltipoo even if you have to leave it home alone from time to time.
