The Maltipoo breed of dog has become one of the most popular in the world. This is due in large part to its lovable size, great temperament, and of course, its designer dog status. If you are interested in buying and owning one of these dogs, though, there are a few things you need to learn.

Five Things to Know about the Maltipoo

1. The Maltipoo is not a purebred dog. Instead, it is a 50/50 mix of a Poodle and Maltese. Not being purebred is not nearly as big a deal as some people believe. If you fall in love with a dog it does not matter what kind it is – purebred or mixed breed.

2. The best way to describe the temperament of this breed is lively, energetic, and friendly. While every dog is unique in its own way, the Maltipoo temperament is one of the best you will come across. If you are looking for a friendly dog that will keep you on your toes at all times, this is one breed that you don’t want to pass by.

3. The size of a Maltipoo puppy is not the size of an adult dog. When you first buy your dog it is going to be very tiny. In fact, my pup was only a pound when I brought him home the first time. This does not last forever. You can expect your adult Maltipoo to weigh between 5 and 12 pounds, and stand approximately 10 to 14 inches high.

4. Maintenance is important. There is no denying that you will have to care for your dog, day in and day out. With a Maltipoo this is even more important because you will have to pay special attention to its coat. If you don’t, tangles will become evident and you will find grooming to be quite difficult.

5. This is a small breed, but it still requires exercise. You may think that small dogs can get away with little to no exercise, right? This is not the case with a Maltipoo. There is nothing wrong with living in an apartment with this breed, as long as you take it on walks from time to time. Not only does this help get rid of some of your dog’s energy, but it improves its health at the same time.

We are the foremost authority on the Maltipoo breed of dog. To get started, check out these popular categories (among many others): Maltipoo behavior, Maltipoo grooming, and Maltipoo training.

Top Five Reasons to Buy a Maltipoo

1. They are fun to be around. Even though every dog has something special to offer, this breed will always make you feel warm and fuzzy.

2. The Maltipoo is definitely a lapdog. Do you like curling up on the couch to read a good book? If so, your dog will be right by your side!

3. They do more than hang out in the home. No, this is not a working breed of dog but for outdoor fun the Maltipoo is a great fit. These dogs love hanging out in the sun, taking walks, and just being with other people.

4. They don’t eat a lot! This may not be the best reason to buy a Maltipoo, but if you are trying to cut back on the cost of dog food it is something to consider.

5. All Maltipoo dogs are cute. There is no denying that this is one of the cutest breeds you will ever come across. Get ready for all the attention this dog will bring!

Although the Maltipoo is a great breed of dog, some people describe them as mischievous. All in all, this can be said about every breed. But with that being said, there are some things about the Maltipoo that allows this to hold true. If you are going to buy a Maltipoo, you should be aware that your dog may have the tendency to act up in certain situations.

One thing that you need to remember is that most dogs only act mischievously when they are alone. In other words, if you plan on leaving your Maltipoo on its own for hours on end, it may get into trouble. This can include anything from chewing on furniture to tipping over trash cans for the fun of it. Once again, if you pay the proper attention to your Maltipoo this is usually not a problem. And of course, if you crate your Maltipoo when it is at home alone you can avoid these issues.

If you catch your Maltipoo acting badly, it is very important that you correct it right away. The longer that you let this issue continue the more difficult it is going to be in the long run. Anytime you get the chance to correct your Maltipoo you should do so. Remember, your dog relies on you to tell it what is right and what is wrong.

Just like every breed of dog, the Maltipoo can be mischievous from time to time. The best way to avoid this problem is to spend a lot of time with your dog.

How much money are you willing to spend on a Maltipoo? This is a question that you need to answer before you begin to shop for this type of dog. When it comes down to it, Maltipoos are priced high because breeders can get away with this. These dogs are among the most popular as of late, and for this reason breeders have found that they can charge extraordinarily high prices. With that being said, you should be able to find a breeder that is offering affordable prices if you search around.

The first thing to keep in mind is that the Maltipoo is not a purebred dog. For this reason, you should never pay too much money. Of course, you need to answer the question of how much is too much.

It is not uncommon for a Maltipoo breeder to charge in excess of $2,000 for a puppy. As you probably know, this is a lot of money for a dog that is not purebred. Of course, shopping around will allow you to find breeders that are only charging $500 to $1,000.

If you come across a Maltipoo breeder that is charging higher than average prices, you should attempt to find out why. What makes their puppies so special? Since this is not a purebred breed, there is no such thing as a show dog or champion lines. The most common reason for a Maltipoo breeder to charge more is because their dogs are smaller than others; this is a big selling point for many consumers.

The price of a Maltipoo puppy depends greatly on where you live, and the breeder that you are buying from. Never overpay if you think that the breeder is being unfair!

Are you interested in buying a dog that will curl up on your lap every chance it gets? If so, you will want to consider buying a Maltipoo. This breed is a lap dog in every sense, and for many people this is a huge buying benefit. Of course, this does not mean that the Maltipoo will not exercise and play when given the chance. But if you are simply sitting around, it is safe to say that your Maltipoo will want to join you.

It is not hard to see why the Maltipoo is a lap dog. This breed is a cross between the Maltese and the Toy Poodle. Both of these breeds are members of the toy group, and for the most part, are more or less laid back. Since both of these breeds love to snuggle up with their owner, the same thing holds true for the Maltipoo.

In many cases, you will find it difficult to get your Maltipoo off your lap. Some of these dogs simply latch on, and never want to leave. There is nothing wrong with this, and you should be glad that your dog wants to spend so much time with you.

All in all, the Maltipoo is a true lap dog. There are many other breeds that fit this mold, but the Maltipoo is one of the best. If you are shopping around for a small lapdog, you need to take a strong look at what the Maltipoo has to offer.

The first time that you lay eyes on a Maltipoo you are sure to notice several traits. Of course, this is different for every person. But generally speaking, there are some features that will stand out above the rest.

First and foremost, the size of a Maltipoo is something that will be noticeable right away. Most Maltipoo puppies do not weigh much more than two pounds, if that. Even when a Maltipoo gets older, it is not going to weigh anymore than 10 pounds. This small size is something that most people take notice of, and one of the many reasons that the breed has become so popular.

Another thing that you will notice is the coat of a Maltipoo. This breed has a long coat if the owner lets it grow. As a Maltipoo’s coat gets longer, it becomes silky to the touch. Many owners love this trait of the breed.

Finally, the Maltipoo is one of the friendliest breeds that you will come across. The first time that you meet a Maltipoo puppy it is sure to be friendly and kind. When it comes down to it, most specimens of this breed get along well with anybody and everybody.

No matter what, make sure that you carefully examine the Maltipoo breed before buying. It is very important that you do this at the breeder before making a purchase. If you are like most, the first traits you will notice are the Maltipoo’s size, coat, and friendly demeanor. All three of these traits are sure to draw you towards buying this breed!

You want to do whatever you can to keep your Maltipoo happy, right? If so, this means that you should purchase plenty of toys for your Maltipoo. While your dog is not going to play with all of its toys everyday, it is nice to make sure that they are available. After all, there are going to be times when your dog is bored and looking for something to do. If you are not around, toys will help your Maltipoo to keep occupied. Remember, it is much better for your dog to take out its energy on a toy as opposed to tearing into your furniture.

What type of toys are best for the Maltipoo breed? You will have to answer this question based on your dog, and what it has shown you in the past. Some Maltipoos love to play with squeak toys, but others would rather chew on a bone for hours on end. If you offer plenty of different toys to your Maltipoo, you should be able to determine soon enough which ones it likes best.

When you are ready to purchase Maltipoo toys, you can do so at a local pet store or online; both options work just fine and offer the chance to get what you want at a reasonable price. Keep in mind that there are hundreds of different types of dog toys available to consumers. Shop around long and hard so that you give your Maltipoo the best toys available. Your dog will be sure to love most of the toys that you supply.

Do you find that your Maltipoo is sleeping too much? If so, you need to consider two things in order to get to the bottom of this problem.

First off, are you paying enough attention to your Maltipoo? If you simply go through your day ignoring your dog, it will eventually curl up in a ball and go to sleep. While there is nothing wrong with your dog taking a nap from time to time, you want to make sure that this is not becoming commonplace. If so, and you are not playing with or exercising your dog enough, you will want to make a change.

If nothing else seems to be working, you will want to take your Maltipoo to the vet. Tell him or her how your dog is acting, and let them run some tests to see if there is a problem. Just like people, dogs suffer from issues that may make them more tired than they should be. Obviously, you want to get any health related issues taken care of before they turn into something more serious.

There is no denying that your Maltipoo is going to lay down for a nap from time to time. But if you feel your dog is excessively sleeping, you need to get to the bottom of the problem. To start, try paying more attention to your Maltipoo. If that does not work, and you still think there is a problem, consider taking your dog to the vet. In the end, you should be able to find a solution.

Are you having a difficult time housetraining your Maltipoo? If so, you are not alone. As you probably know, this is a common problem with every type of dog. Even though some breeds are smarter than others, every puppy is going to make mistakes. When it comes down to it, you need to stay on top of training your Maltipoo if you want it to become housetrained sooner rather than later.

The most important aspect of housetraining your Maltipoo has nothing to do with the dog. Instead, you need to take pride in what you are doing. Remember, your dog is not going to train itself. If you are not willing to put in the time, your Maltipoo is never going to learn. The majority of people who have a difficult time training their dog run into this situation because they do not put in enough time.

To go along with working with your Maltipoo, you also need to be patient. There are going to be times when you get upset with your dog because it makes a mistake, or does not listen to what you have to say. If you quit working on the housetraining process, you are not going to see any results. Always keep in mind that your Maltipoo is not trying to do anything wrong. As long as you are patient you should be just fine.

Overall, if you run into Maltipoo housetraining trouble you will want to continue working with your dog in a patient manner. This will yield results soon enough.

If you own a Maltipoo, you are well aware that you need to buy toys, food, treats, and other accessories. The question is: where do you buy these items for your dog? There are several options for you to choose from, and all of them will offer something that is sure to suit your lifestyle. With that being said, you want to make sure that you are making things as convenient and affordable as possible.

Most people shop for these items at a local pet, retail, or grocery store. As you probably know, you will have access to a larger selection if you head to a pet store in your area. This is especially true if you have a large establishment close to home such as PetSmart, etc. Of course, there is nothing wrong with picking these items up at the grocery store when you are buying food for your family. Just remember that the selection will probably be a bit smaller.

Before you shop for everything locally, you may want to consider what buying online has to offer. There are many online pet stores that sell thousands of items at bare bones prices. This will work out to your advantage if you are always buying new toys and accessories for your Maltipoo. You will probably want to buy food and treats locally, but everything else can be found online.

As long as you buy what your Maltipoo needs, that is what counts the most. But remember, you may be able to save money if you shop around.
